Antonie Alm (PhD, UCLA) is an Associate Professor at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Her research focuses on L2 motivation and engagement, learner autonomy, informal language learning, and the integration of AI in language education. Recent publications explore the impact of ChatGPT on language education, machine translation in L2 writing, and the use of streaming platforms for language learning. She serves as an associate editor for CALL Journal and JALT CALL Journal, and is a member of several editorial review boards.
